The LIQUIDYNE 2-stage design is applied in pumps that process water with relatively clean water. In the 2-stage design, the process water is used to lubricate the seal. Therefore the process water may only contain abrasive particles up to 100 µm.
The LIQUIDYNE 2-stage:
• reduces the water pressure to atmospheric level,
• seals the pump.
The LIQUIDYNE’s condition can be monitored at any time, which has three benefits (1) it enhances grip on the maintenance process, (2) avoids sudden pump failure and (3) maximizes Mean Time Between Maintenance (MTBM).
Briefly explained, the LIQUIDYNE uses the lubricating water discharge flow as an indicator of the remaining lifetime. If this discharge flow is at 20% of the initial flow (flow at start-up), maintenance needs to take place. Plotting the decrease in flow allows users to predict the remaining lifetime of the seal.
